NEW - ONLINE APPOINTMENT BOOKING & REPEAT PRESCRIPTION ORDERING

From Tuesday 14 March 2017 we will be offering a new Patient Access Service which allows patients to book appointments online and order repeat prescriptions.  To Register to use the system, please collect your unique Pin Number and Information Leaflet at reception.  More information is available at Online Services tab below.

HEPATITIS B IMMUNISATION SHORTAGE

Please note there is currently a global supply issue with the Hepatitis B vaccine.  As such General Practice are not able to order any stock of the adult vaccine.  The hexavalent vaccine used in the childhood vaccination programme from September 2017 is NOT affected by this issue.

UPDATE!! BREAST SCREENING WINTER 2016.17

We have been informed by the Screening Department that our patients will now be called from March 2017 onwards.  They apologise for the change in date.

Every 3 years our patients are invited to attend the Breast Screening Service.  This is due to take place in the next 3 months.  Please look out for your letter inviting you to attend an appointment.  The service is for female patients aged 50 -70 years.  The appointments are coordinated by the screening department therefore if you have any questions please contact them in the first instance on Tel. 0141 800 8800.

INFLUENZA IMMUNISATIONS

We have completed all our scheduled clinics for this year.  There are still a high number of patients still to be vaccinated.  If you are eligible for your vaccine please contact the surgery to make arrangements to have the vaccine.

If you do not wish to have the vaccination please let us know and we will up date your record.

THE NEW TEXT ALERT REMINDER SERVICE 

Would you like to be included in the following services?

  • Text Messages to your mobile phone 

We have the facility to use the above services to contact you. These may be used to notify you of, for example

  • Changes to your booked appointment
  • FREE appointment reminders
  • Cancelled clinics including GP, Nurse and Health Care Assistant
  • Other notifications the practice deem necessary to your health care provision

If you would like the GP Practice to contact you by this means please sign up by making sure we have your up to date Mobile Phone number. This can be done at reception by filling out an up to date contact form or by filling out a change of address form - Link on Change of Address Information page 4.

PLEASE NOTE 

If you agree to the GP Practice contacting you via test message to your mobile phone, the GP Practice agrees to adhere to the following:-

  1. The mobile phone number  will only be used by the GP Practice and will not be passed to any other parties. 
  2. No personal details will be included in the message to identify you.

HOUSE OF CARE APPROACH TO ANNUAL REVIEW

The practice are introducing a new model of delivering annual reviews to patients with chronic disease.  This model has been introduced across the UK and involves a two appointment process.  Measurements will be gathered by our Health Care Assistant and the results will be sent to the patient before the second appointment with the Nurse.  We will role this approach out over the next year commencing with our diabetic patients.  Please note you will be invited to attend for this new style of annual review by letter as we have done in the past.  More information on this approach can be found at:

BOWEL SCREENING

All men and women aged 50–74 are invited for bowel screening. Bowel screening involves taking a simple test at home every two years.

We strongly encourage you to take this simple test. In Scotland the screening programme will prevent at least 150 deaths from bowel cancer each year

 SICKLINES

We no longer keep a supply of self certificate forms in the surgery. You can download a copy of the form here sc2.pdf or request one from your employer.  This form should be used for periods of absence up to 7 days.

 

If you require a doctors fitnote (formerly sickness certificate) following a period of absence greater than 7 days please contact the surgery.

 

Please note a change to health board procedures states that where the absence has been initiated by a hospital doctor, either as an inpatient or outpatient, it is the hospitals responsibility to issue the fitnote.  Please get in touch with the appropriate department.

We are looking at ways of improving keeping in touch with our patients.  As a result we are collecting patient mobile phone numbers and email addresses.  This will allow us to send reminders of letters via these methods in the future.
