From week commencing 21 January 2019 Sandyford are implementing TEMPORARY service suspensions for 3 months in the following areas:

Temporary closure:

  • Castlemilk (1 day service)
  • Drumchapel (1 day service)
  • Pollok (3 day service)
  • Kirkintilloch (1 day service)


Temporary service reduction:

  • Springburn (reduced from 3 days to 2 days)
  • Vale of Leven (reduced from 2 days to 1 day)
  • Barrhead (reduce from 2 days to 1 days).




From 18th June 2018 the Childhood Immunisation Programme will be moving to Milngavie Clinic and as a result children will no longer be vaccinated in the surgery setting. You will continue to receive a letter from the screening department detail the date, time and location of your appointment.



We are delighted to announce that Sister Fiona Bennet is training as an Advanced Nurse Practioner. This is a two year programme and will require her to shadow the GP's in their consultations.  We hope you will support her in her training.

Please note there is currently a global supply issue with the Hepatitis B vaccine.  As such General Practice are not able to order any stock of the adult vaccine.  The hexavalent vaccine used in the childhood vaccination programme from September 2017 is NOT affected by this issue. There is also a nationwide shortage of the Pneumococcal vaccinations.

If you would like the GP Practice to contact you by this means please sign up by making sure we have your up to date Mobile Phone number. This can be done at reception by filling out an up to date contact form or by filling out a change of address form - Link on Change of Address Information page 4.


If you agree to the GP Practice contacting you via test message to your mobile phone, the GP Practice agrees to adhere to the following:-

  1. The mobile phone number  will only be used by the GP Practice and will not be passed to any other parties. 
  2. No personal details will be included in the message to identify you.



We welcome Dr L. McNeil who will be with us for a year until August 2020.


The practice are introducing a new model of delivering annual reviews to patients with chronic disease.  This model has been introduced across the UK and involves a two appointment process.  Measurements will be gathered by our Health Care Assistant and the results will be sent to the patient before the second appointment with the Nurse.  We will role this approach out over the next year commencing with our diabetic patients.  Please note you will be invited to attend for this new style of annual review by letter as we have done in the past.  More information on this approach can be found at:

Care and support planning


All men and women aged 50–74 are invited for bowel screening. Bowel screening involves taking a simple test at home every two years.

We strongly encourage you to take this simple test. In Scotland the screening programme will prevent at least 150 deaths from bowel cancer each year

We are looking at ways of improving keeping in touch with our patients.  As a result we are collecting patient mobile phone numbers and email addresses.  This will allow us to send reminders of letters via these methods in the future.
