Ashfield Appointment System
We understand that different patients want different things from our appointment system. Some people like to fit appointments in with their work or other commitments whilst other prefer to ring for a telephone appointment. Many people have more routine matter to discuss whilst other people have potentially life threatening health issues needing prompt attention.
We try our best to meet these varying needs within the limitations of the number of GPs and appointments available.
Our appointments are released everyday (Mon-Fri) at 8.30am. We give patients the option as to whether they would prefer a telephone consultation or a face-to-face appointment.
Booked in advance
These appointments are released 24/72 hours ahead to make it easier for you to see your usual GP with a problem that is not urgent but you would like to be seen within a few days. These provide choice and flexibility as to when and by whom you are seen.
Emergencies on the day
Everyday at 8.30am a limited number of appointments become available, enabling you to see our Advanced Nurse Practitioner or a Doctor for emergencies. At such short notice there is much less flexibility over the time of the appointment and choice of clinician however please if you have an urgent and serious problem, please tell the receptionist and we will do our best to accommodate your needs as best we can.

Test Results/General Enquiries
We are also requesting that patients looking for test results or general enquiries call the surgery in the afternoon (after 2:00pm). This allows us to deal with appointment booking, housecall requests and emergencies more efficiently from 8.30am.
House Calls - line 0141 956 4334 (HOUSECALL REQUESTS ONLY)
If you require a housecall please contact the surgery as early in the day as possible to allow the doctor to prioritise the calls. Any request for a housecall will be triaged by a doctor and are generally only for those who are housebound of for whom, in the doctor’s opinion, it would be medically inadvisable to attend the surgery. Although we are happy to make housecalls we would ask you to consider that the average housecall takes as long as three consultations in the surgery. Please note that it is not possible to request a specific doctor.
In the event of an emergency, or if you are in any doubt, please call 999.
